My first contract was supposed to last 6 months, but due to the coronavirus, I was stuck there for 9 months.9 months is 273 days. Every day is the same, like in the movie "Groundhog Day". All these days I did the same thing, I see the same people (the crew consists of 20 people). After the first 4 months, I already knew every topic that the conversation will now be about. Sometimes you could even predict what this or another colleague would say to you.
In all these 9 months, I went down from the ship to the ground 4 times. I was only able to go out into the city 4 times. Because as soon as the Coronavirus began, we were immediately forbidden to descend from the ship.
And finally, after these long 9 months, I got a plane ticket home. How happy I was to be back home, and how much I began to enjoy the little things, such as meeting my friends, having a cup of coffee, and talking about different topics. But most of all, I was glad to see my relatives, whom I had not seen for so long.
